Tynllwyn is a victorian farmhouse, dated 1841, which welcomes guests all year round. Set in beautiful countryside with magnificent views of the Severn Valley and Long Mountain, the house is approached up a long private drive a mile out of Welshpool.
Welshpool is a country market town in Mid Wales and we are ideally situated for lovely walks along Glyndwr's Way and Offa's Dyke. For our walking guests we offer pick up and return to trail, plus baggage transfer.
We offer bed and breakfast accommodation of five large bed rooms, including 1 king size, with large guest lounges and open fires in the winter months. We offer evening meals booked in advance of visit. We also cater for group accommodation as we offer self catering in our five barn conversions. Please view our photo galleries for images of each.
Many places of interest to visit, e.g. Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway (one of the great little steam trains of Wales - a must for steam railway enthusiasts), beautiful Powis Castle. Plus Chirk Castle, Erddig House, and Attingham Park National Trust properties are all close by.
Market day is held every Monday, selling cattle & sheep from all over Mid Wales. There is also a good selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, and even a leisure centre with swimming pool in the town. Other market towns worth visiting are Montgomery, where spectacular views can be enjoyed from the town's castle ruins, as well as the market towns of Newtown and Llanidloes.
Other nearby towns include Llangollen, Shrewsbury and Oswestry. For those venturing further, Tynllwyn is within an hour of the historic city of Chester.
Horse riding, quad biking, laser shooting, archery, and game shooting are all available in the area. If you are a horse rider and would like to bring your horse, stabling is available.
Snowdonia: Welshpool is less than 65 miles to Snowdon, Wales' highest mountain. Snowdonia National Park which in itself offers beautiful walks and scenery.
The North Wales Coast: Welshpool is around 50 miles from the picturesque North Wales coast and charming seaside towns of Barmouth, Towyn and Aberdovey.
There are several wonderful golf club courses of quality in Mid Wales and its borderlands, including Welshpool, Llanymynech and Oswestry.
