Welshpool Town

Welshpool has many local attractions to offer. The town itself offers a choice of over 10 pubs and a nightclub along with a variety of food takeaways, one of which is the award winning Andy’s fish bar.

The town hosts many fesivals starting in May Spring bank holiday with Welshpool Carnival. June/July sees the Cambrian Transport festival and the country and western festival.

August sees the Agricultural show just a short trip away in Llanfair Caereinion. Other events locally include Powis woodfair in September and the Welshpool winter carnival in December.

Market day is on a Monday.

Llanfair Light Railway

One of the great little steam trains of Wales. Offers trips to Llanfair Caereinion.

Welshpool Canal

You can enjoy a horse drawn canal trip on which you can relax and enjoy some beautiful countryside views.

The Flash Leisure Centre

The Flash Leisure Centre is just a mile away but still within the town which offers swimming along with a full range of leisure activities.

Theatr Clera

Located at Welshpool High School, Theatr Clera offers a packed programme of plays, music and childrens entertainment.

Powis Castle and Gardens

Just 2 miles away. A medival castle raising dramatically above the celebrated garden with world famous garden with Italianate terraces. One of the finest collections of painting and furniture collections in Wales and a beautiful collection of treasures from India displayed in the Clive museum.

Lake Vyrnwy

Beautiful for walks and cycling also available are canoes, kayaks sailing boats and boards for hire or under instruction.
Nearby also quad biking and clay pigeon shooting.

Offa's and Glyndwr's Way

Join the Offa's and Glyndwr's Way National Trails which run along the Welsh/English border, offering beautiful views of the landscape.
